I’ve loved Lorraine West from the moment I was introduced to her by our mutual friend Rashid, who felt like something positive would spark between us if we met. He was right. Lorraine is creativity bound by a human form. She is not a designer but a maker of wearable art. Anthropologie—the Rockefeller Center location; 50 Rockefeller Center, New York, NY 10020, (212) 246-0386—one of my favorite haunts in New York City, now carries select pieces from Lorraine’s Amorglare line! West’s energy is like that of the Yoruba God and master blacksmith Ogun, who possesses her. Here, she talks vanilla icing, God and the new black.
